About me

2My name is Dr. Barbara Wilson, and I’m a mediator and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) professional.

Since 1990, I’ve been working with divorcing and separating couples to resolve their conflicts and reach settlements outside of court. I also work as a family consultant with Collaborative Law clients and their solicitors.

I’m an accredited mediator (FMCA, LEADR), professional practice consultant (PPC), and Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Arbitrators. I’ve also practised in social work, and with the Lord Chancellor’s Department.

My interest in dispute resolution has also taken me into teaching and training. For many years, I’ve been writing articles about mediation and conflict, and presenting them at academic conferences in the UK, Australia, Denmark and the USA. In 2009, I graduated with a PhD from the University of Portsmouth. I’ve included links to some of these papers here. Drop me a line if you’d like a copy of my full CV.

When I’m not at work, I listen to a lot of baroque and classical music, as well as jazz and big band. Weather permitting, I sometimes like to explore the beautiful South Downs landscape which I’m lucky enough to have on my doorstep.
